Ruth Du is a writer, director, and producer originally from the suburbs of Portland, Oregon. Ruth attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and graduated with honors with a Film and Television Production degree, as well as a Metropolitan Studies minor. In 2008, Ruth studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland and directed a music video for popular Irish band The Coronas which was on heavy television rotation in Ireland. When she returned to NYC, she continued directing music videos for independent labels Modern Vintage Recordings and The Outlet Music. Ruth's Thesis Film "Six '55" acquired a distribution contract with GoDigital MEdia and premiered at Howl! Fest 2010 as well as being an official selection of the Manhattan Film Festival and Fusion Film Festival (winning Best Cinematography). Her Film "Floria's Sunday" premiered at the LA Indie Film Festival in 2013.

Ruth directed the webseries "Seeking" in the spring of 2013 and has won numerous awards at The Long Beach Indie International Film Festival, LA Web Fest and Miami Web Festival. The second series of "Seeking" premiered in April 2015 and is the official selection of Hollyweb Web Series, Unofficial Google+ Gilm Festival, the Irvine International Film Festival 2016 and the SoCal Web Fest. 

Professionally, Ruth has several years working as a 2nd Assistant Director, collaborating on such projects as The Better Angels (Sundance '14) and Final Witness (ABC). Since relocating to Los Angeles in early 2013, Ruth has produced several music videos, branded content and commercials and most recently line-produced independent thriller "The Deep End" starring Nora-Jane Noone (Brooklyn), Alexandra Park (The Royals) and Tobin Bell (Saw).
